Kris Calvert headed Annagh into the lead from Rhys Walsh’s corner, but Newry rescued a point seven minutes from time when Kyron McGee headed home Jamie Rea’s cross.
Glenavon 1-0 Newington
Glenavon claimed a narrow victory over league leaders Newington at Mourneview Park.
Ryan Waide scored the decisive goal with 15 minutes remaining, reacting quickest to flick home Jude Johnson’s dangerous cross and hand Glenavon all three points.
H&W Welders 1-3 Ballinamallard United
Ballinamallard came from behind to secure an impressive victory over H&W Welders.
Curtis Giltrap put the hosts ahead after 15 minutes, but Daniel Barker equalised just before half-time. Thomas Connolly then completed the turnaround shortly after the restart before an own goal late on sealed the points for the Mallards.
Institute 2-0 Warrenpoint Town
Institute took advantage of an early red card to claim victory at the Brandywell.
Warrenpoint goalkeeper Daniel Devine was dismissed inside the opening two minutes, forcing the visitors into an immediate reshuffle.
Stephen Doherty opened the scoring five minutes later before Padraig Lynch headed home shortly before half-time to complete the scoring.
Loughgall 0-0 Armagh City
Loughgall and Armagh City played out a goalless draw in the local derby at Lakeview Park.
The Eagles remain without a win after eight matches, with four draws and four defeats, while the point ended Loughgall’s recent run of consecutive losses.
Moyola Park 0-0 Ards
Moyola Park and Ards shared the points after an entertaining goalless draw in Castledawson.
Both sides created opportunities throughout the contest, with Moyola coming particularly close through Luca Doherty and David Parkhouse, while Ards also threatened after the break.
Neither could find the breakthrough as the points were shared.
Rathfriland Rangers 1-0 Queen’s University
Rathfriland Rangers picked up their first points of the season with a surprise victory over Queen’s University at Iveagh Park.
The game remained goalless until just before the hour mark, when Jack Barbour scored the only goal of the game to secure a valuable three points for Rathfriland.
The result also ended Queen’s hopes of moving to the top of the Championship.
